Gainesville Weekend

Image
This past Friday pat and I headed to Gainesville for a weekend of Gator baseball. The had a home stand against Arkansas who is number 1 in the western division. At the same time there was big gymnastic weekend with many colleges there. We figured we better get to the park early as parking would be a premium and it was. We got there early enough to walk downtown and have supper at one of the local eateries. The game stared at 6:30 pm so we had time to enjoy supper and get a good walk back to the stadium. Florida lost that night 8 - 3 and I figured we were in for a long weekend. we got back to the motel about 9:45 pm and watch TV for a while and then hit the sack. Saturday morning we got up and went to the Cracker Barrel for breakfast. We eat enough that lunch was not something we were going to do before the 1 Pm game. we sat outside the stadium in the shade and visited with strangers and waiting for game time. We won the game that day 8 - 2 and now we are looking good. When the gam...

Happy Birthday Pat

Image
This has been a great week and continues to look like it will remain that way. Today is my brides birthday and last night we celebrated it with my brother and his wife. We went out to a nice Italian restaurant and enjoyed a great meal and friendship. I hope that the future has many more birthdays for us to be together, this August Pat and I will be married for 48 years, Wow it just does not seem possible. Today I am playing with the Birthday gift Pat gave me. I am transferring a lot of music from records to a CD. I have a lot of old Italian records that I use to listen to with my mom and dad on Sundays. I can just feel their presences with some songs, great memories! Next I will transfer some songs from when Pat and I were growing up, like Elvis and the Platters. That will be neat to hear some of those songs again also. Man, isn't getting old fun when you can stop and remember? Well time to go and get back to my recordings . Please continue to remember Harold Floyd and Harold Mo...

A Great Week End

Image
Saturday started off with a football game with Tyler. The top picture shows Tyler intercepting a pass and almost making it into the end zone. They did score on the very first play after that. The next picture shows Tyler kicking off after the TD. It looks like he muffed it but he did not it went very far into the othet teams side of the field. The next picture tyler feeling great as their team had just scored another TD and was winning the game hands down. It was a great day to watch football, it was a little over cast and not hot. When the game was over we all went to our house to eat lunch. The next pictures will be of Lukes BB game which was at 1 PM. Tyler took the pictures and did just a great job as you will see. The first picture is Luke throwing the ball in from left field. he fielded it very nice and threw a perfect shot in to the SS. The next photo was Luke preparing to bat and getting instructions from his dad. As you can see by the next shot he was just a little late with h...

As you can our yard is really starting to look great again. Pat and I started working in the yard this morning about 8:15 and worked until lunch time. It was just a beautiful morning and a great day to be in the yard. As you can see the new sod is really taking hold and is looking great. We mowed, edged. weed eated and pulled dead grass from bad areas. I also fix three sprinklers which is staring to be a full time job. When we finished I put out just a little more fertilizer is areas that needed just a shot. Pat and I have always taken pride in our yard and enjoy working in it. as long as our health holds out we will keep the yard man away. Tonight I am make a pot of Jambalaya, Pat and I enjoy it and i enjoy making it. I thought I would show you some of the ingredients that are used. The most important ingredient is the Chick Stock instead of water. It makes it so rich and tasty you just can't do with out it. On Sunday we have been invited over to my Daughter Darenda home for ou...

Better Today

I have really been slacking with my Blogging lately. I have been in a real funky mood and have not really felt like it. I think it is a mixture of my dental work and a couple of my friends who are really sick and have been in the hospital too long. I know that my teeth work have been bothering me. But I think about mt friends who are really sick and it makes me feel lucky and Blessed. I do have a little story to share about my dental work. Last week I had prep work done with anticipation of some bridges being installed. I had four temporary crowns and off to Gainesville I went for the orange and blue game. While tail gating I bit down on a mere piece of cheese and 'Bam" out came a crown cap. Monday morning I called George Cajoleas and told him what I had done. By 1 pm I was back in the chair and he repaired the tooth. Now here it comes....wait here it is....One hour later I was installing a new sprinkler and I was trying to get it out of the package. I am so smart that I decid...

Orange & Blue 2010

Image
Not much to say for the week end, just wanted to share my Gators orange and Blue game. There was about 50,000 + fans there. I think that Florida will have some exciting games this year. They are loaded with 3 great QB and wide receivers to match. we will see as the year goes along. “ He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.” ( 1 Peter 2:24 )

Yesterday I received and email from my daughter Sandy, she and her husband James live in Newnan, Georgia. They had just come home from a wonderful vacation and then all went zippy for them. They both have had a bad case of the GI'Blues, Sandy missed two days of work and James missed his week end rest time. Check her Blog on the left side of mine....great trip and great pictures. As you know I have had some dental work done recently. Well it seems as though I have developed an infection. It hurts from my right ear to the bottom of my throat. Last night I ran a slight fever and today just a little higher. The dentist has put me on antibiotic's in hopes of curing it. I am suppose to go in at 1 pm on Thursday for him to start grinding my teeth in preparation of my new bridges. Today I was head bent to finish my sod work. I think this is the last of it as we will plugged what is left. Now Iknow why young people work and old people don't. Thought I would die, I should be ashamed ...
