No, it does not end!

The other day I shared with you that I was still taking roots out where the old oak tree stood. I stood back rather proud that I beat the odds that this old man could still do it. The next morning when I looked out in the direction of my root work I shrunk to the old man syndrome. Lord and behold I saw the old familiar site of grey sand. I know right away that I had cut an irrigation line when I was chopping. I went out to fix it not wanting to give up but....it just was too much for me. The pipes were wrapped up with more roots and big roots. So I did the smart thing this time, I called a man to come over and fix it. The next day I repaired and changed some sprinkler heads. I also re-arranged the location of some. I think that I will get better coverage the way I have it laid out now. I do have one little problem, I bought a new Orbit sprinkler from Lowes. This sprinkler is a lower profile than the other and that is what I wanted. The problem is that the nozzle is too big, it is 4 gpm

Bad week for Gators

After I got the big root our of my yard I thought my stress was done for the day. I settled in by cooking a big pot of Sausage Jambalaya and got ready to watch Gator sports on TV for the night. The first game was the basketball team playing Vanderbilt. They were beaten 64-60, I think this was a major blow for chances to play in the NCAA play offs. They would have to really do good in the SEC playoffs to make it. I then watch the Fla vs Fla State Baseball game which was being played in Tampa. Florida has brand new team as most of last year players have graduated. It showed as FSU beat them 10 - 5, FSU score 7 runs in the 1st inning and never looked back. Sounds like it will be a long year for the Gators baseball team. But, Pat and I will go up for a week end of Gator baseball some time during the season. Take care and have a Blessed day. “ For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are

Another Root!

Well I thought that I was done with roots in my back yard, well guess again. I worked two days on the one in the picture. Well not full days of course a few minutes each day. I finally got it out and I am tickled to death about it. People that know me and Pat know we like a nice looking yard. We both work hard at it Pat really puts a lot of effort into it. Well last year between the construction, chinch bug and fungus our yard has gone to pot. Maybe pot is the key word, If I smoked it I would not care about it much. We have been trying to decide what to do about it, re-sod or plug it. Also should old times try and do it or hire it out. We know if we do it it will be done the way we want it done. But I am not sure that we are capable of doing it by our selves. I have been thinking of a Sot party, no I mean Sod party. I feel like I am 100 years old when I start a project like that. This getting old is a little depressing for me, I am glad I don't have to work for a living as we would
