Sister's Fishing Trip!

This week started on a Wednesday for me as I spent Monday and Tuesday dealing with doctors and dentists.
Wednesday night was a city council meeting and we were able to pass a moratorium on Pill Mills in our city. I left the meeting early so that I might be home in time to take Pat to the airport. Pat’s sister Annie was coming from Louisiana for a visit and her plane was due at 10:20 PM.
At about 9 PM Annie texted me to say they were running a little late. But she then texted me again and said they were loading on the plane at 9:45. Pat and I left the house at 10 PM and headed for the airport. When we were in St Pete I got another text that stated they were not taking off as there was an electrical storm over head. OK, no big deal we continued to the airport cell parking lot. As we were pulling into the lot here comes another text, “we are now taking off”. That made it scheduled to arrive at 12:15 AM, so that was not too bad. Long story shorten…….we got home about 1:30 AM. Pat asked me if I could remember the last time I stayed up that late, I could not! I went to bed about 2 AM and the girls talked for a while, I’m sure.
We all got up about 8:30 AM or so and were all blurried eyed I’m sure. Drank coffee and eat a little something and read the paper. I went and picked up the boat and brought it home and we loaded up for a fishing trip. I was not able to throw the bait cast net as I hurt my back last week doing that. We bought some live shrimp at the shell station and went and launch the boat. It was a beautiful day and the fishing was fun. As you can see the girls kept me busy removing the fish from their hooks. They caught a variety of fish, Key West grunts, mangrove snapper, yellow tail and cat fish. The biggest fish caught were a 24” Black Tip shark and Spotted Sea Trout caught by Annie and a real nice Gag Grouper caught by Pat. We took about 19 pictures of fish and quit knowing we could not put them all on the Blog.
I put the best pictures on the Blog for you to see. I did chunk a plastic bait and caught a few Oyster fish. (Boy am I great or what?) All in all it was just a beautiful great day and lots of fun for all of us.
We finished the day by going out to eat seafood at the Ana Maria Oyster Bar. The food was great and we had no dishes to wash and no fish to clean.
Friday morning I went to the doctor again for my back. Pat and Annie went to Luke’s school for a parade. As you remember the other day Luke was in some kind of Olympics and he received a Blue Ribbon for first place. The parade was the final portion of the celebration. The kids designed their own tee shirts and got to parade around in them. Pat, Darenda and Annie were there to see all of it. Presently the girls are out to lunch and then going shopping. Tonight Manatee High School is playing their spring football game so we will be going to that. I have no idea what the rest of the holiday will bring but I will write about as it happens.
Have a Blessed day and be Blessed.
