Time Has Flown By Too Quick

I was listen to the radio the other day and the Song "Little ole Dime" by Jim Reeves was playing. The song is about a man trying to find his girlfriend's number and says he has one little dime left. He hopes this little dime will be the one that connects him. My mind went blank, "a dime for a phone call". How long ago was that, and then I said to myself, when was the last time I saw a pay phone?

All that started my memory rolling in third gear. Remember when....gas was .22 per gallon, you could go to the movies with a quarter in your pocket. You could get in get a coke and popcorn and have a penny left over. When I was in High School and my father would give me 3 bucks to go on a date. When I flashed that amount of cash the girl I was with probably thought that I was rich. 3 bucks would get you in a drive inn and you would have enough to eat a meal later on.

When Pat and I got married we were making $115 a week between us, and we were rich. We would buy a weeks worth of groceries for $10. (5 bags full) We bought a brand new home for $11.300.00 and had house payments of $71.30 and month. Wow what tough times, we did not really know how good we had it. But where has all the time gone and how quick has it flown by?

My two beautiful daughters are in their forties and I have two grandsons. They are growing up so quickly I can not stand it. Speaking of grandsons, Pat and I were on the Island Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday night for flag football. It was cold and windy each night, we all just about froze our butt's off. I will post some pictures from this week so you can see that the kids and fans were cold also.

Have a Blessed week and be a Blessing to some one today.

“Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.” (1 John 4:20-21
