He is Growing up too Fast!
Wow, as he ever grown up. and too fast. Seems like yesterday that Tyler was willing and able to sit in our laps. Makes you want to cry....
The picture of the tree will be posted after lunch...sorry.
Here is the last look that you get of this Stately Oak Tree. It has been in my back yard since 1985. It has been the support of our grand kids little bodies as they swung in their real early years. Luke still swings on it occasionally but that will end. I am a little sorry about it but reality has set in. This is the tree that hangs over our home and keeps me very busy on the roof during falling leaf season. Also it keeps me trimming limbs that concern me about falling on my roof. And Hurricanes, we won’t go there but it has concerned me when I see the news and pictures of Oak trees that have fallen on homes. It also has been a big help in keeping our home from getting too hot during the summer heat days. But given the fact that I am getting older and also should something happen to me Pat would have to deal with it. So in the morning I will say good by ole buddy and thanks”.
We heard a great quote from our grandson Tyler; he said “California has the greatest food, hottest chicks and the coolest beaches”. Sounds like a thirteen year old to me with Hormone’s kicking in. Like I stated yesterday he will be heading home soon and I am sure reality will kick in slowly.
I cannot believe how quickly this summer seems to be moving along. August is on its way and football season right behind it. Pat and I will be married 47 yrs this August. Boy who would have “thunk it”? Pat has really been a Blessing in my life and I thank God for her. Speaking of Blessing’s, you be a blessing to someone today.
Today’s verse of the day is………. “I have chosen the way of truth; I have set my heart on your laws.”- Psalm 119:30

hello brother-in law
ReplyDeleteHi Martha, it worked I am glad you are aboard. Now I know I have three people reading my Blog...
ReplyDeleteHi there, Mr. Gene. We're back from California. It's 9:20 here in Northern Virginia and young Tyler is still sleeping. Jet lag may take awhile...maybe not -- does T ever get really tired ;-)
ReplyDeleteWe had a nice time in La La Land trying to get Tyler to some of the best tourist spots in the time alloted. I think he enjoyed seeing Aunt Carrie's softball game -- meeting her friends -- the best! Muscle Beach, biking and skating at Venice Beach was really cool for him -- he used the new skateboard in that area as well. Our Warner Brothers tour was pretty cool. He loved the Arcade on Santa Monica Pier, of course.
Love your blog -- except it spoils my makeup with the watery eyes it can create ! ;-)
