Fishing Trip was a Blast!

Well we went on our Lake Okeechobee fishing trip with the boys this week. We left on Tuesday morning about 9 am, we would have left on Monday but I had to have a tooth pulled. I had a jaw tooth pulled and cut out and what ever on Monday. I really did not know it was going to be such a big deal, and it wasn't. On our way to the Lake we stopped in Arcadia at the Sonic for lunch. We really loaded up on carbs for the day.

We were on the Lake by about 2 pm and fished until about 5:30 or so. We did not catch any fish but we had a good time with the boys. As you can see Luke might have gotten a little cold as he is wrapped up. Both the boys enjoy being the captain of the boat and I enjoy letting them. Tyler has gotten really good on handling the boat properly. But every once in a while he starts to play and I have to remind him that it is not a toy.

This day we went through the Lock and explained to the boys what the function was. Here in the rim canal is where Tyler caught the only fish of the trip. Yes I said, "the only fish". we fished very hard for Spec's, Shell Crackers and bass. The full moon had just passed and the wind had churned the water up pretty good. I am sure that it affected the fish as nobody was doing much at all. We used live minnows and earth worms and artificial baits, no luck.

We stayed at Danny Molters fish trailer and enjoyed the time we had with the kids. As you can see I think they enjoyed the time spent down there too. Danny has a very interesting trailer, Bobcat and all. There is quite a bit of poker played down there. Tyler was amazed at all the dollar bills stuck all over the place with names on them. And you can see the fish that caught Luke.

Today was a full day of getting things done for me. First thing this morning I worked on the boat and fixed a drain that I broke while at the Lake. Then I got my truck fueled up ($75) and had it washed. I then went to Lowes and bought some sod for the back yard. As you can see I just did a little spot, but I have lots more to do. Pat had raked two bags of leaves last night so today i mowed with the catcher. As you can see there are many bags of leaves at the curb. I wish I could say that it is over, I don't think it is. I mowed, weedeated and edge the yard today. My energy level was really good today so I took advantage of it. But oh mercy, is my back telling me someting.

Well enjoy the pictures and have a Blessed day and be a Blessing to someone. “[Jesus Again Predicts His Death] Now as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside and said to them, "We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will turn him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!” (Matthew 20: 17-19)
