Just Thinking...Hummmm!
Looking at the walls in my office I am at a total loss as what to do with all that stuff when I retire. Wait, I know, I will not retire just croak in office and let Pat worry about it.
Seriously when I first was elected to office I had put four Deer heads on the wall. My pride and joys from my deer hunting for years. But "Bam" my first encounter with animal lovers and I lost.
I did not take me long to discover the art of keeping voters happy. So that is what I did, down came the deer heads and up went stuff. Well after 18 yrs in office you can see that the stuff grew. Also you can see that I keep my book shelf real nice and neat, just like Pat raised me. Oh well she had to fail at something in her life, I guess I fit that picture.
I can not believe that I have been retired from the FD over 18 yrs. It just seems so much that I was still answering alarms last year or so. But when I see how these two boys have grown it blows me away. Tyler is 13 and will be in High School next year, "Good Lord" can you believe that? I am sure that Manatee is not ready for him yet! I know I am not ready for him to go either, I am sure Mom and Dad are really thinking, "WHAT"? Girls, cars and all that fun stuff is coming his way (lucky dog). Look at that picture, is he going to break some hearts or not ? I just hope that God wraps his ever loving arms around him ( Luke too) and protects him. Today's time is a real hard time to grow up in, hopefully parents understand that and act and teach accordingly.
Then there is Luke, as his dad refers to him "shorty". He is a bundle of get up and go and really goes. He is enjoying his time in sports, he will be play baseball shortly. He can be so serious sometimes that it will startle you. I sometime wonder how long I will get the opportunity to hang around and watch them grow up. But I know that is in Gods hands and he knows best, might be some things I don't want to be around for. Right now they are what I live for and love to see them and be around them. I wish I had the energy that Pat has with them, she goes and goes. Well enough of the serious stuff have a wonderful and Blessed day and be a Blessing to someone.
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.” (James 4:10)
