Trip to The Mnts (part 3)

Image
Well this is better now than skip it all together. I left out a very important part of the trip, why I will never know. We left on Sunday morning Feb 20th to head back home, as always we always take back roads home. We ate breakfast in some little town in the Ga mountains, actually is was a brunch to me because it was about 10:45 AM. The food was great and I ate something a little different. It was called Red Link Sausage, I was a big shot and thought I know what I was ordering,,,"WRONG"! That stuff was terrible but I ate it and never said a word, man was it hot! We drove all the way to Valdosta that day, on the back roads which takes about two hours longer. It is always nicer to drive the back roads no stress like on the Interstate. We checked into the Holiday Inn Express and then went to supper. We all were rather tired so we parted company early and went to our rooms. Pat and I read for and hour or so then turn the lights out. This is when all the fun happened, did I say ...

Luke Marvin's Day !

Image
We had the privilege of attending our grandson Luke's award day at school. He was surprised and happy to receive this award and we were happy also. As you can see by the picture that so were is parents. Luke is in the 2nd grade and growing very quickly as most kids are. As we watch our grand kids grow it just seems it is flying by. His brother Tyler is in High school and that just blows me away. Take care and be a Blessing to some one today. Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. 1 John 5:1-3

I will be Back!

Sorry to my few readers, but I am having some health issues but I will be back "I promise"! “For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.” (2 Corinthians 5:14-15

Just a day of Fun

New England has their colors and NC has theirs, but ours are beautiful also, don't you think. The little guy on the right thinks it is really neat and beautiful also. Can someone tell me what kind of a tree that is "The name of it is ? " This was just a real fun day for grand kids and grand parents. The weather was beautiful and the water was clear as glass. Water temp was 68 degrees so no swimming for us. Fishing was so, so but we were together and out on the water. We had a nice lunch while drifting around, does not get any better than that. As you can see the kids caught a few fish for their troubles. Luke caught a Blow fish and we played with him before we let him go. We threw all the fish back in (thank God, no cleaning). As you can see the kids got a hold of the camera and then all the fun started, there were many taken and some were deleted. As you can see I had three kids posing for their famous shots. Some how I need to get this Blog sent to all their fri...

Flag Football Season Ends

Image
.......as we continue on to another sport, sadly flag football is coming to an end. Tyler still has the playoffs to compete in but Luke's season has ended. The pictures above show just a little action of what the kids have been doing. Tyler has played both defense and offense, he has done a great job at both. He has been involved in breaking up several long passes that would have gone for TD's . He also has been able to stop several running TD's by getting the flag. I like this kind of football for kids, the danger of severe injuries are not that high. And most of all, they have a lot of fun, and that is the way it should be for kids. Luke played QB and defense also. Luke threw for many TD's during the season. He has a great arm and feel for the game for a 7 year old. He also ran for a few Td's , he is the 2 nd coming of TIM TEBOW ....yea! I don't know what the next sport we will be watching but it will be here soon. The boys have been involved with sp...

Trip to The Mnts (part 2)

Above are some Ice Sculptures that were on display in Blue Ridge Ga, Went spent one day just shopping and then going to Morganton Ga to see if we could find Jerry and Fedora Campbells home. And find it we did, 2 1/2 miles off the main road, right through "dueling banjo" country. It is a gorgeous home as you can see. I think that the lake it sits on might be a finger from Lake Blue Ridge. As most lakes up there they dry up or get drained this time of the year. As you can see we did a lot of snooping, well at least they all did. We knew we had found the right place when we peeked into the window and saw a mug with the name Fedora on it. As I walked around this mansion I thought to myself, "what a great place to have a class reunion". No question that this home would be big enough. Oh by the way it was not all that hard to find, there were at least 20 signs with arrows pointing to the Campbell home. We spent some time in a town in NC called Hayesville. While we we...

Another Great Trip !

Image
This years trip to the mountains with Pat, Gary and Harriett Gregory started on February 12th. We started our venture by going to the Florida vs Tenn basketball game which was on Saturday at Gainesville. (Fla won !) Prior to the game we spent some time in the University Book store shopping (a must). Then we went to the famous restaurant called "The Swamp" for an early supper. After the game drove to Lake City to spend the night. Sunday was a beautiful day to drive to the mountains and we left the Hotel about 9:30 that morning. We arrived at the rental office about 3;30 that afternoon to pick up the directions and keys to our cabin. The directions that they give you are very precise and we found the cabin with no problem. The cabin was not as big as we normally rent but it worked just find for all of us. The view was as nice as could be for this time of the year. As you can see it was basically the sunsets, as you can see by the photos. And yes, NO SNOW this year "Dad...
