Trip to The Mnts (part 3)

Well this is better now than skip it all together. I left out a very important part of the trip, why I will never know. We left on Sunday morning Feb 20th to head back home, as always we always take back roads home. We ate breakfast in some little town in the Ga mountains, actually is was a brunch to me because it was about 10:45 AM. The food was great and I ate something a little different. It was called Red Link Sausage, I was a big shot and thought I know what I was ordering,,,"WRONG"! That stuff was terrible but I ate it and never said a word, man was it hot! We drove all the way to Valdosta that day, on the back roads which takes about two hours longer. It is always nicer to drive the back roads no stress like on the Interstate. We checked into the Holiday Inn Express and then went to supper. We all were rather tired so we parted company early and went to our rooms. Pat and I read for and hour or so then turn the lights out. This is when all the fun happened, did I say fun....not really. I woke up very sick about 2 AM, the next 16 hours I had violent dry heaves. Pat sent the Gregorys home the next morning since we did not know how long I was going to be sick. The fun began when Pat attempted to rent a car for us to use to get home in. We could rent nothing in Valdosta that would go south. So she called Lake City and found a car for us to rent. Now, how do you get to Lake City.....We have dear friends who live in Live Oak, Sid and Doreen Ballou. Sid is a retired fire chief so you know they are good people...YEP! They drove up the next morning and picked us up and drove us to Lake City to get the car, "What a life saver". God supplies friends like that for old people...AMEN! Story does not end there either. We said our good by's to the Ballous and started home. About and hour down the road Pat hollered "Yow"! We had a blow out on the rear and Pat safely drove us to the side of the road. Now, I have been feeling like I had been run over by a truck for the last 24 hours. And guess what, now I am on the Interstate changing a tire trying not to get run over. Thank God we made it home safely and nothing else happened. That was the beginning of some serious problems health wise for me. I had a recurrence of that stuff a week later only it was worse. Been checked over head to toe and they feel it was just some strange kind of bug. Now you heard the rest of the story, stay tuned for another adventure some day. Be Blessed and have a great day. “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.” (1 John 3:16

  1. I was wondering what happened to you....I usually check here every Sun. or Mon. Glad you are better. Can't believe you sent the Gregorys home. They must have been pretty worried. Tell everyone hello from MI.
