“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” (Colossians 3:17)
Wow, as he ever grown up. and too fast. Seems like yesterday that Tyler was willing and able to sit in our laps. Makes you want to cry.... The picture of the tree will be posted after lunch...sorry. Here is the last look that you get of this Stately Oak Tree. It has been in my back yard since 1985. It has been the support of our grand kids little bodies as they swung in their real early years. Luke still swings on it occasionally but that will end. I am a little sorry about it but reality has set in. This is the tree that hangs over our home and keeps me very busy on the roof during falling leaf season. Also it keeps me trimming limbs that concern me about falling on my roof. And Hurricanes, we won’t go there but it has concerned me when I see the news and pictures of Oak trees that have fallen on homes. It also has been a big help in keeping our home from getting too hot during the summer heat days. But given the fact that I am getting older and also should something happen to me Pat...
Pat and I flew to Pittsburgh last Friday to see Manatee play football. we also took in a couple of Pittsburgh baseball games. I can't say much for the Pirates but the Hurricanes were great. We were on the same plane as the team, it was fun. Friday night we were invited to a private box to watch the baseball game. It was a great way to see the game. A lot of food and many friends to visit with. As you can see we also had a big desert cart. I made a mistake and ate a big piece of carrot cake and the next my sugar crashed about noon, but it was worth it. Saturday morning Pat and I walked down to the Rib Fest that was down at the Steelers stadium. They also had a marathon with 6,000 people running in it, yes 6,000. I tried to take some photos of the first people coming into the stadium. I don't think they turned out to well. We met some friends for lunch at Jerome Bettis's sports bar. We went there to watch the Gator game. Really did not have much to watch as they reall...
Here are some pictures of our room that is going to be demolished. As you can see we have cleaned out the inside from what I showed you a week ago on the Blog. Today I began doing some the work that the contractor would have done. I guess I cannot keep my hands off of anything, I have to be involved. The boards that you see that I removed are braces. I put them on several years ago when a hurricane was looking at Bradenton. I have plywood cut out for that room and the braces were there so that the wood could be applied. They have to come off because they would hinder the contractor from removing the windows. I will not need then anymore because I am installing hurricane impact windows in the new room. The contractor, Mark Wolfe showed up today to meet with some block layers for them to give him a bid. He dug around the foundation to be sure that the room had a footer, which it does. The only area that I am concerned about is the roof. When we tear the ceiling down we will find...
