A Weeks Worth !

Pat and I have been on a short vacation, and I have not written much on my Blog. So starting back before we left is where I will start.

My son-law Doug parents came down for a short visit and Pat and Doug's mom Judi had a great visit. They went to lunch at Peaches and chatted, girl talk I'm sure. Pat said she had a great time with Judi, we dearly love them I am sure that Darenda know s how lucky she is to have them as in-laws. As the saying goes the acorn does not fall far from the tree, I am sure that they are the reason that Doug turned out to be as great as he is, we love him as equally.

We went to the Florida Mississippi (see info below) and saw another lost by the Gators. I am not going to talk about them too much.

The Gator’s are having a down season as most folks know. But I always look for the silver lining in everything. The picture you see is of Erin Andrews, she is a commentator for ESPN and a Gator Alum. That is pretty much of the high light.
Mississippi State (5-2, 2-2 SEC) held off No. 22 Florida (4-3, 2-3 SEC), 10-7, in another frantic finish in The Swamp on Saturday night. Playing on Homecoming in front of a crowd of 90,517 fans, it was the Gators' 40th consecutive home game with over 90,000 spectators.

With :09 seconds remaining in regulation, senior Chas Henry (Dallas, Ga.) misfired on a 42-yard field-goal attempt that would have tied the game and the Bulldogs ran out the clock to notch their first victory in Gainesville since 1965.

We spent a number of days we with Gary and Harriet Gregory in NC. We always have a great time with them shopping, eating and playing cards. We were able to see a few colors as you can see by the pictures. They were not as bright as they normally are but they were nice.

We left there on a Friday and drove over to Newnan Ga, where my daughter Sandy and her husband James live. Newnan has to be one of my most favorite towns to visit. Friday night we went out for pizza in town. I can tell you that the leaders of that town really have it jumping. The weather was great the food and company was great, just does not get any better than that. I listened to the Manatee, Riverview football game via the Internet that night.

Supper time at the Truan;s!

Blakely, Canes cruise vs. Rams
As Mike Blakely came running off the field, the man in the white pullover jacket and khaki pants stretched out an open palm. Only, Blakely did not see the hand and instead greeted Florida Gators coach Urban Meyer with a gator chomp after his second touchdown Friday against Riverview.
The real question is whether Blakely will be doing the chomp again on Tuesday when he announces his college choice.
The host Rams and Meyer saw enough of Blakely on Friday as he propelled Manatee to a critical district win, rushing for two touchdowns and throwing for another in a 35-6 romp despite his lingering ankle injury.
Blakely will be a Gator next year, thank goodness we need him!

Saturday morning we went and shopped and ran some errands with the Truans. We had lunch at the Brick House where the food was excellent and the Keno was even better. The rest of the day we watched college football. As you can see James and I were relaxed, I mean really relaxed. James played with the neighbors dog and I think it wore him out. Hey James I bet you did not know we took that picture of your relaxation period. As usual they have a beautiful sunset as noted by the pictures. We left on Sunday morning and drove all the way home (500 mile) a bit much for me anymore.

On Monday I went and got the boat and Pat and I took the boys fishing as they were out of school. It was another windy day and a little choppy but I think the kids had fun, "That's what really counts"!

Well I am done for the day, you have a Blessed week and be a Blessing to some one.

For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)
