"The Mighty Oak"

Well here goes another day of surprises, I put the coffee on and nothing happen "kerr pook" the pot is dead. I quickly remembered I had a pot in the garage that I take to fish camp when I need to. So at last the coffee was brewing and I was happy, I read my Bible and then the mullet wrapper and off to work I go. We will see where life's journey will go today.
Now for the above pictures, this is one on the mighty oaks that I have in my yard. I planted three oaks when I built this house in 1985, they were about the size of a broom stick handle. I was told by a friend not to plant them so close to the house. The only thing I could think of was SHADE, close to the House they went. I have been able to trim these trees for most of their life time, but not anymore. I can do the smaller limbs that don't hang over my house but.....well this one is out of my reach.
The lower limb is way too long and is directly over my house. With the hurricane season on its way it time to say good by to that limb. I have hired a man who goes to church with Gary Gregory, who has done work for me before. He will be at my home Saturday morning ready to take it down piece by piece. The cost will be $300 for one limb, wow I only paid $25 for the tree when it was planted. My how things have changed, too bad our SS checks don't grow that fast and in that proportion.
Supper at Beef's last night with the Sweats was great. We always have a good time laughing about things. And for those who know us and your not there, we are talking about you! Ha Ha.
Pat & I have three more nights of tending to Bear and then he will be happy as his family will be home. I think last night he could have jumped into our car and came home with us if we had let him. He looked a little sad as we pushed him back in the door, sad dog eyes are hurtful....
Well I am off to an Insurance committee meeting for the city, I have to save the taxpayers money and give the best to our employee's, what a scale to look at!
Have a Blessed day! Today's verse of the day is....“Sing to God, sing praise to his name, extol him who rides on the clouds — his name is the LORD— and rejoice before him. A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.”- Psalm 68:4-5

  1. Why don't you guys let Bear come and stay with you?? I am sure he would love the company, and you guys would enjoy having a dog in the house again.
