Rods, Rods and more Rods.

Well as you see fishing rods is not something we lack in. I have fishing rods for, salt water, bass fishing and pan fishing. You name we got or will get it. The rods you see on the floor and pan fish rods that I am getting ready for a fishing trip. We are taking our grandsons out for some fishing fun as I wrote the other day. It used to be that just getting ready was half the fun. But now it seems as though it might be work. I tell you this getting old stinks; you would think that stamina would stay with you forever. Oh well no use in complaining, there are a lot of folks a lot worse off than that so I know I am Blessed. I sure hope I can take a lot of pictures of the kids catching fish.

This picture is Luke playing games with my shaving cream. As I was shaving yesterday getting ready for the night council meeting in can the little one. He watch me shaving with his curious eyes and ask a few questions. Next thing I know he has dotted his nose with the cream. His grandmother got it on camera so I thought I would share it with you.
Have a Blessed day and be a Blessing to someone today. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

Beautiful Day In Florida

It is just a beautiful day today, the winter weather is hidden for a while. On the way to work this morning I spotted the fine looking bird roaming the yards. I could not tell if he was looking for food or his mate. Whatever it was he did not seem to care if I was around looking and taking pictures.

As you can see Luke thought it was a pretty day also. The kids got out of school early today and Pat brought them home for a while. Luke did pretty well shooting the hoops. I shot one time and made a swish so I quit while I was ahead. Luke referred to my shot as making it rain. That was a knew basketball comment for me, but I will learn more I am sure.

Tonight is a city council meeting and I hope it will be short. Looking at the agenda it seems it should be a very short one. But....giving a politician a mike, well it could take longer. Last night I was a judge at a spelling Bee contest. I and glad I did not have to spell anything, wow it was hard.

Next week after I get a jaw tooth pulled we hope to take the boys fishing. It is spring break and we hope to have some pictures for you to see. Have a Blessed day and be Blessed.

Paw Paw Messed up!

This is the picture that my daughter Darenda sent me via email. The email stated, "the little slugger went 2 for 2 and scored both times as they won their first game, and was presented the game ball. Well you see that may not be big news for all you big baseball fans, but for me it was great. The sad thing for me is that I opted to go play cards with some buddies and I missed his game for the first time. Man, did I mess up I should be horse whipped for that. Any way I am sure proud of him and I know he will do it again.

Today I will be going to the Pirates game with Pat. The season is winding down and I know Pat will miss it as she loves to go to the games. As for for me I really don't get to excited with pro ball. It is nice to see people that you know and you only see them during spring ball.

Yesterday I went to Jack Smiths funeral, Jack was a friend and coach at Manatee HS school. We will all miss his smiling face and cheers for his Gators. Pat and I are going to another funeral on Saturday morning in Jacksonville. It seems that we are going to funerals too often now and it is a little depressing. But, that is the stage of life that we and our friends are.

Take care and be Blessed and be Blessing to someone today.

Well Planned and Fun Weekend

Well Saturday was a great day for fun. Our day started off with us watching Luke play BB at GT Bray Park, as you can see we seem to favorite one player. One of the photos shows him running after he hit a smashing single to left field.
After the game Pat and I met a high school buddy and his wife for lunch. We had a real nice visit and a good lunch.

After the lunch we came home so Pat could rake some more leaves and I could take a nap. Old men like me have to rest if you plan a night out on the town. We had plans to go see the Tampa Bay Lightning play hockey with some gator club members. As you can see by some of the photos Pat and I are a bit old as compared to the rest. But they are all nice kids and we have fun with them. Hanging around with young people make you feel young.
After church today Pat had planned to take Darenda and the two boys to see the Pirates play the Tampa Bay Rays. But as luck would have it, it is a rainy day so that will not happen.
I see that all the big teams are falling like rain themselves. Kansas and George Town have both lost and are out of it. I bet the bookies in Las Vegas are dying. In my mind it kind of makes the Gators lost a little insignificant. I was going to watch the Gators beat Miss St in BB today but it is raining there also. So I guess it will be another great day for a nap.
Have a Blessed day and be Blessed. “But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” (Jeremiah 17:7-8)
