Paw Paws Place

Kind of like the kitty in the picture, not much going on this week end. Pat and I had a very quite 4 th of July weekend which was OK by me. Saturday night we went to supper and then to a movie. When we got home Pat went over to the Marvin home to let their dog Bear out. The Marvin families from Bradenton and Va are out at the beach for the weekend. Pat opted to check on Bear and let him out rather then have him put in the kennel. Sunday morning Pat went over in the early AM and let Bear out. When she got home we went to church and then out to lunch with our friends the Newsome's . Sunday was a long day as we kind of made coach potatoes out of ourselves. But I guess that is what old folks do, well at least that's what I do. Pat needs to be doing something so I am sure it was a struggle for her. To complicate it all it has been raining for a couple of days, that makes it really dreary all day. This morning I went to Walmart and did some shopping (just to get out). While...

Sandy and James were able to play tourist for a number of days while they were here. I guess they rally don't play as they are tourist in some fashion. I am not into much of that but on Friday we went to Tarpon Springs and I am glad I went as I enjoyed it. The heat was really showing its mighty strength as it hit 99 degrees. But walking in and out of the air conditioned stores gave us a little break. I found that most of the stores must have imported from the same town in China as there were a lot of the same items in each store. We did eat in a real nice Greek restaurant by the name of Hellas. The food was very good and I think we all got our bellies full. I ate a sandwich called Souvlaki which had the following items in it on pita bread. The items are as follows, chunks of marinated pork, sliced onions, tomatoes and tzatziki sauce. Pat had chicken fingers on pita bread with lettuce and tomatoes. Sandy and James shared a combination platter which had, Gyro, Mousaka, Pasititiso, ...

This was a great fathers day treat for me "fishing"! Sandy and James came down for a visit with us and we went fishing on Father's Day. As you can see we had a great time and caught fish. Sandy out fished all of us as she never quit catching. She caught then all, Lady fish, shark and tons of Pig Fish. The rest of us caught Mackerel, Snapper and what ever... The weather was just great and we all had a good time. We fished from about 7:30 AM until about 1:30. We spent some time under the Sky Way bridge with the strong current and all. We took about 28 pictures but as you can see I showed you just a tad of them. Prior to Sunday we spent Saturday evening at the Marvins and celebrated an early Fathers day. Darenda cooked some yummy Cajun dishes which was enjoyed by all. She made shrimp Etoufee and Crayfish Pie. As you can see everyone had a great time even "Bear". The day is just beginning for grandma to get her grand kids going. As you can see Mr. Luke had a Fort built in his parents bedroom for the night. And of course his Buddie, Bear is right by his side, that will change some day as he gets older. Bear will want his own space and will sleep some where else. As you can see they have a neat collection of Hess Trucks. "Guess what" they discovered they did not have the year 2000 (Fire Trk ) Well, Darenda ordered the 2000 Hess Fire Trk . As you can see Tyler starts his day and ends his day with the electronic world. This seems to be the norm for boys his age, I guess it could be worse. Over the past year he has grown like a weed and will be in HS next year at Manatee (3rd generation) I am not sure I can handle that. he is dressed and ready to go to his golf lesson for the day.
