Yesterdays Project

This was the project for yesterday as I thought it would rain in the afternoon. This a remote control fan for ole folks like us who do not want to get up to change speeds. As Pat and I were installing it Pat commented she now knows why they chage good money to install fans, but we succeeded with out very many problems. (glad Pat can read directions, it helps)
Today Pat and I will be out in the yard trimming some BIG limbs from our oak trees. It will take both of us to do the job, with this vertigo that I have Pat will do all the bending over and picking up the little limbs which I trimed.
Not much planned for the week end Holiday, no boating as there will be far too many nuts on the water. So to all I say "have a Blessed and safe holiday" and I will be back on Tuesday.
For some reason I can no longer cut and paste on this Blog so until I figure it out there will be no Verse for the day.

Lukes Big Fish

Luke had a great day when he caught this fish but Grandma was just as excited as Luke.
Well today is my day off from City Hall so I took my truck in for a recall item. It was suppose to be a 45 min job but that turned into many hours. So now I am with out transportation for the morning. I will run my errands in the afternoon.
Glad to see my Gators win a baseball game in the SEC playoffs, they are 1-1 right now. "Go Gators".
We are going to have another rainy day so there will not be much outside work done. Got all my roof drains cleaned yesterday so that is out of the way. Still have some Oak tree limbs to trim but that can wait.
Have a Blessed day:

Aunt Sandy and the "Boys"

It is really amazing to me how quick my girls grew up but my grandsons are just flying by me. But I guess that is true for everyone with family, but my family is special ha (to me).
Most of my morning has been taken up by meetings here at city hall. The morning started with my monthly breakfast with some classmates. The I met with the Sleep Apnea people and returned my C Pap machine, it just not work for me.
Yesterday was another rainy day except this day we got our share, we got 1 1/2 inches of rain and we needed it.
“[Divisions in the Church] I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought.”- 1 Corinthians 1:10
Have a Blessed day!

A Father and Son Fishing

This is my son-law Doug and his son Tyler fishing. I believe that taking a kid fishing is one of the best ways to bond. It is a memory that the child will never forget, that "first fish" wow what a great memory. I remember taking my daughter Sandy fishing when she was a little tot, she loved it and still does. She would fish all day and not worry if she ever hooked much, she just loved it. On the other side her sister Darenda was not all that crazy about it. Her joy was playing softball and having fun.

Today is another day of ho hum as things at City Hall are very slow. If it does not rain too much maybe I can get the yard cut this afternoon. My project of trying to fix my Bar B Q went array and I have decided to buy a new one. Now I have to consider, do I buy what I want or do I buy what I need? That's the big decision for the day for me.

Pat has cooked a big pot of beans for to nights supper so I will pig out tonight, beans, fresh maters and corn bread yum...

Have a Blessed day! "Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."
Ephesians 5:1-2

The Start!

This is Luke's 1st year of Tee Ball

Well today is the start of my Blogging, my daughter Sandy has warned me about my spelling and grammar. So, for all you who have nothing to do and read my Blog good luck.

I start off each of my days with a reading from the good book and coffee, today is no different. I will share each day that I write my verse for the day which today is. "But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.”- James 3:17-18
As each day is pretty much the same as far as work goes. I am a City Commissioner for the City of Bradenton. Each morning I read all of my emails sent to me from friends and taxpayer's. Most are very nice and some are rather tough to deal with. In this Political world you make 7 people happy and 1 mad, so you deal with it. Most decisions that have to be made are tough especially dealing with Land Use Issues, there are always several sides to the issue.

My wife is home from a trip to Louisiana for a family wedding. She had a great time an a safe trip home which I am thankful for. So today when I go home for lunch it will not be lonely.
