A Cold Forecast for Bradenton

Image
It is not to often that you will see a fire in my fire place, Sometimes I turn the AC down to 60 so I can light a fire. But this fire is for warmth, my feet and hands stay cold. The weather man has forecast 30 degrees to night with a hard freeze. To you folks up north I know that is a breeze. Let me tell you that in my yard that is too cold for "ole folks". My daughter Sandy who lives in Newnan Ga with her hubby James are really cold. She emailed and told me it was snowing and the low was 13. Yea for them, enjoy, enjoy I say....That snow you see is in their front yard. I think they might be colder than we are down here! But none of us are as cold as the little kitty that you see. Double click on the kitty and you will see just how cold he is. Doug and Darenda are on their way home from the Orlando Airport as I am writing this. They called us from the Denver Airport about 2:45 PM to day. When they get back they will see a new look for Luke. As you can see he lost his first too...

Last Big Game of the Year.

Image
Well it is another cold day here in sunny Florida. But not as cold as my daughter Sandy’s home is. She emailed me today telling me that it will snow at her home on Friday. OoooH I wish I could be there, “Yea right”! Got these pictures from my daughter Darenda who is out at the Rose Bowl. They went out to see the Nat’l Championship game. The picture includes some of her buds who went to Alabama with her. And of course her hubbie Doug who is in “Hog Heaven”. He is a real die hard Bama fan, but does not scream as loud as Darenda at the games. Pat has one more night of staying with the grand kids then its back to me. I miss her not being here but I know she loves being with the kids. And they really love having her there with them. I have to get ready for another club meeting tonight, that’s two in a row. I guess it is better to keep busy so you don’t stiffen up and crumble. Take care and be a Blessing to someone today and be Blessed yourself. “Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly lo...

Another Cold day

Image
The weather did not dip as low as they said it would, but it was cold. The weather man said it would get colder during the week. They even said that they might have snow in the panhandle. Got this picture from my daughter Sandy. James and Sandy went to the Sugar Bowl and had a great time. They said they want to go back to New Orleans and spend some time there. They had quite a busy couple of days. They went to the Chick Fillet Bowl to see Tenn play (James team) and then went down to the Sugar Bowl. Right now my youngest daughter Darenda is in Calif for the National Championship game. I heard from her this AM and they are having a ball. I am sure I will have some pictures to share soon. Still waiting for Pat to pick out carpet so we can finish the room. She has been so busy with the boys that it will have to wait. It will be nice when it is completed. Have a Blessed day and be Blessed. “[Be Holy] Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the gr...

Brrrrrrrr Cold Florida Weather

Image
Well the cold front has hit us, but not as hard as up north. I was able to have a fire in the fire place yesterday. Looking at my wood pile I need to move some from the main stock pile. The weather man says it will be in the 30's for the lows the rest of the week. "Hey coach" what do you really think about that 75 foot winning shot. I think this picture tells it all, wow what a finish. here is where you can read what happened. Click on this http://gatorzone.com/story.php?id=17186 . I see that Hayden is going to the NFL draft, I think that is just the beginning for Florida. Next year will be a brand new year and team. It should be interesting for Gator fans, it will give them something to talk about all year. I have been trying to get some work done around the house dealing with odds and ends. This taped up finger with the stitches is really in the way. But what I can't do now I will get done later. I wish the weather would clear up some as I would love to take Pat fis...

Gator's end season on a High note!

Image
Yea, the Florida Gators finally showed up last night and played football. Pat and I were invited to Caleb and Michele Grimes home for a Gator party. There were many good gator fans there and we all had a ball as you can see by the pictures. I am so glad that Tim Tebow finished his college career in style. The rest of the gator’s all played their hearts out. Now I just hope that Alabama will win the Nat’l Championship and that will end the football. Then on to basketball with the young Gator team. They will be on TV on Sunday at 3 pm so I know where I will be. Sandy and James went to the Sugar Bowl so I am ready to hear from them to hear about all the fun. I got all my honey do's done today so I can rest on Sunday. I fixed a broken yard sprinkler and filled some holes in the yard. I split some fire wood and stacked it on the back patio ready for use. You know in south Florida you must be ready for the cold. Be a Blessing to someone today and be Blessed. Teach us to number our days...

"Good by 2009"

Image
Well it is the last day of 2009; wow has it gone by in a hurry. We had the kids last night over to spend the night. It has been a week or so since we have seen them. We needed a fix so it was great to have them here. We had been to their house earlier that night to have Christmas. As you can see presents were the thing of the night. We also had supper with them and it was great. Seems to me that we just don’t do that enough anymore. Time will come when it will be said, “I wish…” Everyone seem to enjoy their gifts, even Bear had his gifts to open. Tonight Pat and I are going to a movie and then to supper with Gary and Harriet Gregory. It will be and early night for us, but that is what “ole folks do”. The finger is on the mend and thanks to my relatives who read my Blog and called. (Sister in law and son in law). At least I know I have two people who read it. Well, Happy New Years to all of you! And may you be Blessed each day of 2010. And remember, be a Blessing to someone yourself. ...

" Oh Well What's New"?

Sorry that I did not Blog yesterday but I have a good excuse. I want cutting some wood with my table saw and had an accident. I spent a few hours in the walk in clinic getting fixed. By the time I got home I did not feel like doing any Blogging. Because of the stupid meds I am taking I feel really bad so this will be short. I will return soon some time after the 1st. Pat and I are going to a New Years Day party featuring the Florida Gators. That will be our entertainment for the night (Sugar Bowl). I hope that they end this season on a positive note. The Marvin’s have all arrived home safely from their Christmas vacation. Doug and Tyler drove home and Darenda and Luke opted to fly. They will be going to the National Championship game soon. We will be watching the kids which is a better deal. Take care and be Blessed. “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”- John 16:33
