Gators and Fish Win!

Image
The week end went by in a hurry, but it was a really nice week end for us. Weather wise in could not have been nicer. Saturday morning the kids were playing in the Flag Football playoffs. Tyler’s team won their game but poor Luke’s team lost. I am proud of both of them for being involved in some kind of sports. I don’t think I would like for them to play football in High School, it is too much of a risk. Both boys got medals as you can see by the pictures. Saturday afternoon was spent in front of my TV watching college football (my favorite). The Gators squeak by anther win over South Carolina. If they intend to play for the Nat’l Championship they better bring it up several notches. Sunday was church day for us; as usual our preacher had a great message. After church, back in my chair to watch the Dolphins and Bucs play. The Dolphins won it in the last 39 seconds of the game. YEA I am a Fish fan so I love it, poor Bucs…BOO Hoo. Well the windows showed up today, but no workers. It woul...

Opp's Where are the Windows?

Today is just a beautiful day, the weather is just great. It is 1:30 pm and the temp is about 70, just does not get any better than that. Today was my day to do the yard work, In the summer time it takes me two days to complete. The first day I trim and edge the yard, the next day I mow. Sometimes Pat shares the mowing with me. I just can not take the heat anymore, it just zaps me to nothing. But today is the kind of day that I can do it all in one day. After I finished Pat and I sat on the front porch for a while. After I ate lunch I watched the noon news and about fell asleep. I got my butt up and put on my walking shoes and did my afternoon walk. When I got back home Pat told me that the window installers were here. But it is tough to install them when they have not been delivered. I call our contractor and told him about it. He said he will call them to see what the deal is. Anyway no new pictures to show you on the room as it is at a stand still. Well that is ab...

Gloomy Day !

Image
Today is another lazy day for me to do nothing, but I did my walk for the day. It is a rather gloomy today the sun shines then it rains a little mist. I took my son-law car to a friend of mine to be work on. Doug’s car has 70,000 miles on it and he would keep it as it will be paid for next month. The contractor told me that he should have the windows, door and framing completed next week. Now it will start to take shape and we can get ready for the drywall and finish work. Well that’s about it for the day as I will need to get ready for another meeting tonight. Have a Blessed day and be a Blessing to someone. Encouraging Words “[Do Not Love the World] Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from the Father but from the world.” ( 1 John 2:15-16 )

Tim Tebow...For Real!

Not much going on today, a good slow day to do nothing. I received a copy of this email and I want to share it with all of you. Posted: Today 12:42 AM> Tebow the person (from a bulldog) (1 vote)> Hello,> > I am a lifelong Mississippi State fan and have no strong feelings negative or otherwise towards Florida .> > However, a dear friend of my wife had an encounter with your quarterback Saturday morning.> > She has what could very easily be a terminal brain tumor. She is leaning on her faith in the Lord to get her through this and no matter the outcome, she is being extremely positive. She is only 26 and is having to deal with her own mortality. I can't imagine it is easy.> > Anyways, she has a live journal documenting her treatment and everything involved. She has a list of famous people she would like to meet or talk to before she dies. These include Oprah, Ric k and Bubba, and of course Tim Tebow.> > She is from nearby Columbus , MS and noticed ...

Great Weekend

Image
The weekend has flown by without any incidents for the Gallo family, which is good. We went to GT Bray field and watched our grandsons play flag football early Saturday morning. Doug & Judi Marvin (other grandparents) was there also. I think that they really enjoyed watching them play. Pat and I also attended the Vanderbilt – Gator game over the weekend. Florida still is not playing all that well but they are still winning. They will play Alabama in Atlanta for the SEC championship. The winner of that game will surely play for the National Championship in the Rose Bowl. As you can see the room is coming along very well at this time. Today we are waiting for and inspection so we can continue on. Pat will be glad when it is over; she seems to worry about every little thing going on. I don’t imagine us ever doing any major remodeling with our house. I overheard her telling someone over the phone, she wants new carpet in the bedrooms but not wanting to go through the hassle. I have ...

Moving Slow!

Here is a picture of the supplies that showed up on Thursday. My contractor told me that the block people would be here today early and be done by day’s end. Well I took the picture early in the morning and here it is at 12:40 pm and I have not seen a worker. So much for the theory that they would be done today. I see that we have a storm brewing out in the Gulf. I hope we get some rain out of it but that’s all I need. It is kind of late for storms but who knows? I went to the election office to check out two provisional ballets, yes I said two. I think they ought to change the law. If there are not enough provisional ballets to change the election, throw them in the trash. What a waste of time for the Supervisor of Elections and his staff, and of course mine also. Tonight Manatee HS goes to North Port to play a game. I think that I will pass on it and stay home as it will be the first night this week. Well have a great week end and I will be back on Monday. It’s time for me to go for ...

"Dab Burn'it"

Last night was not a very nice night at the Gator Club meeting. When Pat and I walked into the restaurant there was a big sign that read Seminole Club. The place was filled with Manatee County FSU fans and boosters. Our club president admitted that she told a friend of hers that we met at this restaurant once a month for a directors meeting. Well as you know, Seminoles cannot do anything for themselves so they followed us. Here is an update on the room, as you can see they have put in the rebar and will start laying block on Friday. Also I thought you would like to see how my beautiful yard is looking. Today was yard day and after I mowed I looked around and wanted to cry. Junk and grass dying from truck tires parking on it. Oh well I better get use to it for while anyway. Tonight I have a 100 club directors meeting so out for another night. It just goes on and on with meetings, seems it never ends. At 5 PM I have to go to the elections office and look at provisional ballets for the ci...
