Now That's What I'm talking About!

As we started this morning on the water at 7:00 AM things were running through my mind, "what today would happen"? We had a glance at what week end fishing in our area is about. As we drove to the launch we saw boats galore and no parking in the lot.(all full) Pat was able to find a spot across the street from the lot and she park there. While she was parking boats were still coming in to the marina.
We headed out to our favorite spot to chum up some bait. We did not get the quality that we like but I only threw the bait net 4 times and we had what we needed. So far so good right, then the bulb lit up. I had left the bait dip net at home and I did not want to try and catch them by hand. So I thought now it begins what next would happen? We stopped by the bait house and bought a new net, now I have two that I can leave home. Ha Ha .
As you can see we had a very good day fishing, the picture of Pat is her with a red grouper and mine is a gag grouper. We caught about 8 so that was a great day. Now after Pat and I cleaned the boat and she went and walked Darenda's dog Bear we will rest.
Have a Blessed day!
Today's Verse is :....“If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”- Luke 11:13

"What Should have Been"!

Well as we planned, we should have been cleaning fish like these tonight. But something happened along the way to make a good story.

Pat and I have two great friends that own Lake houses at Lake Okeechobee. They are very generous to us as we are able to use either one. We had planned to use house number one and made reservations early in the week. We had to then change to house number two because number one's AC was out. So this morning we packed and headed for Lake Okeechobee for four days of fishing. We arrived about 1:30 Pm and turned on the water and AC. We then went about our chore of unloading the truck, clothes, food and etc. I fixed a couple of rods that needed to be changed for the type of fishing that we were planning. I started to notice that the house was not cooling very much. When we arrived it was 89 in the house, two hours later it was 87. Yep you guessed it, AC was out in house number two also. So we packed up called our friends who were suppose to come down on Sunday and let them know what happened.

Well now, not to give up Pat and I will go out in the morning very early here at home and go fishing. I think that we will catch a real BIG fish to make up for 225 miles of driving, loading and unloading. We will see what God has in store for us in the AM, another adventure YEA!

Stay Blessed....

Another Sun Rise

I guess this kind of proves I don't sleep in, at least not this morning. Is this not an awesome sight to see. I really think that the sun rise that you see in the NC mountains is where it is at.
After my plumber activities yesterday I am going to relax today. I have had my morning meeting with the City Clerk about our budget woes. This is really going to be a tough year for the city, but we will get through it. We are trying real hard not to have to lay off more people.
Pat and I are leaving for a fishing trip to Lake Okeechobee this week end. I am sure that my Blog will be off for a few days until we get back. Our friends the Newsome's will meet us there later in the week end (Sunday after noon). We are looking for a real relaxing time and if we catch fish that will be great. The Marvin's are leaving for there summer Disney cruise so Pat will have some time off from baby sitting.
When we get back it will be back to work, we have planned more oak tree trimming and some grass plugging. Yards are a never ending battle (if you care). Well take care and have a Blessed day.
Today's verse of the day is: “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”- Psalm 46:10

James Wish!

I have told James my son-law how to win at Texas Hold'um, here is the hand I won a BIG tournament with. Now I am KING....

"Joe The Plumber"

We the day started off the way it was planned. At 8:30 AM we had a council meeting, it lasted longer than it had to but that's OK. At 10:00 AM we went into a shade meeting about our contract with the Police Union. This where we can go behind close doors and discuss what we want to give or not give them. When that was over mu day really began. After lunch I started a project to repair the shower. As you can see by the above photos.
I went to the ACE hardware store and let them talk me into ACE products which lasted 1 min. I had to go all the way back to the store and get what I should have, Moen parts! I finally put it all together and it works just fine. So now all I have to do is make spaghetti sauce for supper tonight.
Have a Blessed day:
Today's Verse of the day is:“Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”- Colossians 3:13

Change of Feelings

When I was young I had a puppy named Inky, he lived a very short life 9 months was the total time I had him. When he died I was very sad and cried for a week and I promised myself I would never own another pet.
For over 20 years I was an avid hunter especially Deer hunting. I never killed for the fun of it I always ate my game (I loved deer meat). Both my daughters had dogs Sandy had a dog named Garth and Darenda's dog was Bowers. I grew to love both of them and miss them both as they are both gone. The change in my life was that do to my love for my daughters dog I could no longer kill, so hunting went by the wayside. This was a big change in my life because my plans after retirement was to hunt, hunt and hunt. That was 18 years ago, and I have never fired a rifle at and animal since and could not.
The picture of the dog above is Belle, she visited us everyday at one of the cabins that we had rented in North Georgia. She looks so much like Sandy's dog Garth I think that we fell in love with her also. She ate well while we stayed there for a week, I often wonder has she is doing.
Well I heard from my boat doctor who told me that he has ordered a new pump housing for my boat motor. I hope that it is done quickly as I have a fishing trip planned for this week end.

Time to go for the day, Have a Blessed day:
The verse of the day is: “[The Narrow and Wide Gates] "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”- Matthew 7:13-14

Bad Luck Day

This what our day should have looked like, Grandson Tyler catching a Gag grouper but it didn't happen.

As I was getting the boat all loaded and ready for a days outing I started thinking, How blessed am I to have two young grandsons who love to fish. The weather report said late afternoon thunder storms and 30% chance of rain. That made for a good day of fishing and fun for us (I thought), little did I know. As we approach the the ramp I noticed a big thunderhead and rain Storm looming off head to the west. Of course that was the direction we were heading. Got the boat in the water and headed out, about 50 yards out my motor over heat alarm went off and the motor shut down. I had just had the motor serviced and that took my breath away. We made it back to the pier and loaded up for home.(no fishing today)
I took it to the dealer that had just serviced it and told him something is wrong. I explained what had happened to it. So now I am waiting for his call to tell what it is. To add insult to the entire scenario as I took the lock off of my boat hitch I gently place it on my bumper with the key still in it. (also two keys to two different lake houses), Yep you guess it, I drove off with them on the bumper and I have back tracked and they are nowhere to be found. So that is my start to day, but that is not as bad as the Gators did last night....No. 17 Southern Miss (40-24) overcame a 6-4 deficit with three runs in the eighth inning to defeat No. 9 Florida (42-22), 7-6, in game two of the NCAA Gainesville Super Regional on Sunday night at McKethan Stadium. With their second-straight win over the Gators, the Golden Eagles punched a ticket to their first-ever NCAA College World Series.

Once a gain I wish my readers a Blessed day:...The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights. For the director of music. On my stringed instruments.”- Habakkuk 3:19

Not A Good Day For "Gator's"

No. 17 Southern Miss Holds Off No. 9 Baseball, 9-7
No. 17 Southern Miss (39-24) erupted for three runs in the fifth and four in the sixth en route to a 9-7 victory over No. 9 Florida (42-21) in the first game of the best-of-three NCAA Gainesville Super Regional on Saturday at McKethan Stadium. The Golden Eagles will have an opportunity to clinch their first-ever berth in next weekend’s NCAA College World Series with a win tomorrow night at 7 p.m., live on ESPN2.

So much for my Saturday of Florida baseball, I will have to pull them through tonight. If not their season is all over until next year.

I am planning on trying to take the boys again out on the boat in the morning. But the weather is so bad today and more coming in the AM so I don't know for sure. Fishing reports have really been good so I hope we can go.

Short Blog for Sunday (day of rest,ha) so have a Blessed day: The Verse of the day......“Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. For a thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night.”- Psalm 90:2,4
