Christmas 2011

Christmas 2011 in Newnan Georgia with James and Sandy.
We were really happy to go and be able to spend Christmas with our daughter Sandy and her hubby James.
Our stay started off with Sandy making home made bagels..ummm were they ever good, this is my breakfast every morning. But now I am spoiled as the home made are just sooooo good.
We went to Calloway Gardens and took the light tour, I took way too many pictures but I am sharing just a few. It is a beautiful place to go if you are ever there during Christmas. After the tour we went to a little country restaurant and had a late supper. We had eaten there last year and went back for a second time as it was supper good food.
We had the traditional Christmas supper, Turkey and all the extras you could eat. The next morning I made sausage gravy and biscuits for all of us and then we went out shopping. Well the girls went shopping, James and I ran errands. We met the girls for lunch at a place called "Newts", no relation to the guy who is running for president. The food was just great and we were all stuffed.

We left on Tuesday morning early to come back home. It rained the entire trip which makes driving a real long and tiring trip. But we arrived safe and sound back home.

I hope that all of you have a "Blessed New Year"

Another Great reunion for the Class of 1957

We met at Tara Country Club on December 22nd for a luncheon. We just had a great time of visiting and hear our beloved teacher Mrs. Parrish speak. I took a few pictures but some reason they did not turn out very good. We has about 28 classmates and friends attend and we are looking fore ward to May. I am not sure that I like my new template for this Blog.

I hope that all of you had a very Blessed Christmas with your family.

Great week.....

This week we had a full schedule as we had Pat's sister and nephew down from  Louisiana. We enjoyed fishing and catching. Then we had a great supper of fried grouper which we did not catch. After supper there was a little time of recreation and couching & dog time.

Friday we went to the 7A state championship and watch Manatee completely dominate the number 1 team in the state, First Coast from Jax. They were 13-0, that is before we beat them 40-0.

Tuesday night we had our celebration party at Lee Roy Selmonds on cortez rd. This is where we have our HS radio show each Tuesday during the season. What a way to finish up.

Now i get to watch my grandsons play flag FB and then Tyler will play Lacrosse. It never ends...thank God!

I will see you after Christmas, so I will say....."remember what the season is all about".....The birth of our Savior"

While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.” -Luke 2:6-7

Fishing With Family.

Pat's sister Annie and nephew Dustin came for a visit with us this past week. We had a full day Friday as we went fishing and then to the Manatee HS semi state final game.....which we won! Fishing was not all that great as you can see but fun was.

We stared out with me throwing the bait net and when we had enough for the day we headed out to our favorite spot. As you can see we caught a variety of fish, also Annie caught a Ray. Pat caught a fish that I have never seen before, have no idea what it was.

We also had a great time fighting the Sea Gulls a diving long neck black bait eating ducks. We spent a great deal of the time shooing the birds away. But all in all it was a fun day on the water.

Hope you have a Blessed day and be a Blessing to someone.

Thanksgiving Part #3

After Thanksgiving the traditional football playing was started by the young people which did not include me.(thank God). As you can see Doug and his boys were playing catch in front of the cabin. Everything was going good until daddy over threw the ball into the thicket. As you can see, he who over throws, fetches....as the picture shows daddy was in a lot of agony...ouch!

Friday night my daughter Sandy and hubby James arrived for a visit. On Saturday morning we had sausage gravy and tomato gravy and biscuits. Luke  loves it when his Aunt and Uncle visit as he gets to play a lot in the game room. Here they are teaching him to play cutthroat pool...he loved it!

Sunday the Marvin's left very early in the morning and headed back to Bradenton. Pat and I had lunch in Cleveland Tenn with James & Sandy and James mom and dad. It was James dads birthday so we helped to celebrate a little. After lunch we headed to Sandy & James home in Newnan Georgia, we spent the night and left early Monday morning in the rain. When we arrived home in Bradenton it was still raining.

We had a very Blessed Thanksgiving and we hope you did also.

Thanksgiving Part 2

On Tuesday we met friends from Bradenton for lunch, Ron & Dawn Allen along with their son Levi. They have a home in Haysville NC, we met in between at Murphy NC. There is a little restaurant in Murphy call "Shoebooty's" that we like and that's where we ate.

We then went back to their new home to visit for a while, it is a beautiful home. When we left I stopped at my favorite used book store and bought several James Patterson books. (my favorite author)

Tuesday evening the rest of the Marvin's arrived, Doug and Tyler. The next morning was sausage gravy and biscuit time. The girls only ate biscuits and boring scrambled eggs. After Doug rested (as you can see) we planned a days outing.

We went to Copper Hill Tenn, which was known for ore mining in the early 30's. We watch a short slide show of its history and then a man spoke to ask and permitted us to ask questions. (it was quite interesting).
After that we visited the museum where we saw many old tools that were used for mining ore. We then headed for McCaysville and had lunch at a neat Mexican restaurant (the food was good). We then headed home for the day and rested up so Doug and the kids could play arcade games as you see and Pat could cook.

I will do part Three a little later in the week, That's when the rest of the family arrives.

Have blessed day and be a Blessing to someone.
