Sports Weekend!

Canes-roll-on-Bayside-up-Next
Getting there wasn’t easy. Playing without top-tier interior linemen Drakkar Wilson and Quinton and Pompey, both out with knee injuries, the Hurricanes were hit with more adversity when two of their reserve linemen -- Derrick Calloway and Blake Keller -- were hurt during the game’s first series.
Both returned, however. And Manatee’s first score, fittingly, came when defensive end Marquis Dawsey recovered a Venice fumble and returned it 30 yards, giving Manatee a 7-0 lead less than 90 seconds after the opening kickoff. I will do something on the Gator - FSU game after it is completed, later on during the day. And then on Monday or Tuesday I will do a special on Thanksgiving, should anyone be interested.
Well what can you say about the Fla - FSU game?
I don't know what the problem is but Florida has a long way to go. And I hope they can do it quickly.
Hope you had a Blessed weekend.

Winning Weekend

Anthony Lauro a running back for Manatee and Quenton Bundage receiver are pictured above.
Our weekend started out on Friday night at Manatee High School. Our football season is coming to the exciting part, PLAYOFFS!
Canes cruise past Northeast. It took two plays and less than two minutes for Mike Blakely to show everyone he was OK, more accurately, better than OK. Manatee won 35 - 13
Manatee’s Florida-bound running back, hampered during the second half of the season with ankle injuries, sprinted 29 yards on his first carry during Friday’s Class 5A-Region 3 quarterfinal against St. Petersburg Northeast.

On Saturday morning my grandson Luke played in a final soccer tournament. The teams were made up from all the teams which played during the year. Luke was the leading scorer for his team so he represented them. It was fitting that the game ended in a tie, so both teams were winner and each player was awarded a new shirt.

Last be not least we have the Florida Gators last effort to look like a real football team.

Jordan Reed navigates Florida Gators past dangerous trap
Jordan Reed accounted for four touchdowns and the Gators snapped a three-game home losing streak to ensure a winning record.

They didn't pull a Michigan. They locked up a winning record. The Florida Gators even put away a ranked opponent for the first time this season.
OK, so it was Appalachian State, the No. 2 team in the Football Championship Subdivision -- the league below the big boys -- that the Gators overwhelmed in front of perhaps the lightest turnout at The Swamp since the bitter end of the Ron Zook era.
But the Gators did come away with a victory, 48-10, which is more than the Michigan Wolverines were able to say after they were knocked off by the North Carolina school in 2007 -- in Ann Arbor, no less.
Here's hoping all of you great people out there enjoy your Thanksgiving with your families, and my all of you be Blessed.
“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” (Psalm 100:4-5)
