What a Friday night, Manatee defeats State Ranked No 1 Plant. The final score was 48 - 10 and it was never close. As you can see, coach Kinnan was a little concerned after Plant went 80 yards for the first score. It was in the first 14 seconds of the game, after that it was all over.
Plant came in Ranked No 1 in the state and No 3 in the ESPN top 50 pole. Today's ranking has Manatee No 3 and Plant No 40, Yea Canes. I guess we all are looking for a great season for them. I just hope that this game does not go to their heads.
The talk was that Plant does not put much stock in preseason games. You can not tell me that the kids were not excited to play on ESPN live, no way! They just got it handed to them in a brown paper bag. This was a big payback for last years State Championship game. I hope we meet them again in December at the State.
