Gainesville Weekend

This past Friday pat and I headed to Gainesville for a weekend of Gator baseball. The had a home stand against Arkansas who is number 1 in the western division. At the same time there was big gymnastic weekend with many colleges there. We figured we better get to the park early as parking would be a premium and it was. We got there early enough to walk downtown and have supper at one of the local eateries. The game stared at 6:30 pm so we had time to enjoy supper and get a good walk back to the stadium. Florida lost that night 8 - 3 and I figured we were in for a long weekend. we got back to the motel about 9:45 pm and watch TV for a while and then hit the sack.

Saturday morning we got up and went to the Cracker Barrel for breakfast. We eat enough that lunch was not something we were going to do before the 1 Pm game. we sat outside the stadium in the shade and visited with strangers and waiting for game time. We won the game that day 8 - 2 and now we are looking good.

When the game was over we headed for Lake City where our next night stay was booked. We me with some dear friends who live in Live Oak (Sid & Doreen Ballou) whom we have not seen in a year. We had a great time visiting with them, at the Cracker Barrel "where else'? After supper we sat outside in the rocker's for several hours. Pat and Doreen talked family stuff and Sid and I solved all the world problems.

The next morning we headed back to Gainesville for the Sunday afternoon game. The weather was over cast and not looking good. I opted to skip the game and head home, and did we call it right. The game was delayed 2 1/2 hours and did not get started until 3:30. I was able to get home and mow the yard and get that all done before dark. Florida did win that game 2 -1 so they had a great weekend.

Well, you have a Blessed day and be a Blessing to someone today. “Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.” (Hebrews 7:25)
