Trick or Treat!

Sorry I did not Blog on Thursday as it was a busy day for me. It started at 8:30 AM at Bob Sweats office. I am part of the canvassing board for the city for this election. We had to go down and whiteness the running of the machines. The election is this coming Tuesday, so all you city voters get out and vote pleeeeeeez. I have already voted absentee, I vote for the three people who are in office. (Bemis Smith, Patrick Roff and Marianne Barnebey).
While I was there I met two of the challengers, O’Brian and Melton. Had a blast as they wanted to discuss my letter to the editor which I happily did. I still have not change my mind about who is best for the job.
Big weekend coming up for the Hurricanes, Gators and halloweeners. Manatee will play Venice which will decide the district championship. The Gators play Georgia and that is always a barn burner. And please give out only fresh fruit to kids, no candy. They need healthy items and will thank you for it as they egg your house.
Room is coming along nicely and I will have more pictures for you next week. Remember I don’t write on the week end so have a Blessed day.
Encouraging Words
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Another step closer

Not much going on today, city hall was quiet this morning. I do have a council meeting tonight but it does not look like much.

I talked to my son in law James this morning. He mentioned to me that the deer have eaten one bag of corn already. So I guess they will have a fat deer on their property this year.

Here is a picture of a snapping turtle (110 lbs) that was in a ditch in La. I think I would rather have deer on my property.

The contractor ran into some hard pebble rock. The pebble rock was what we had on the floor when it was a screen room. As you can see he is busting it up with an electric hammer. He just finished, he has spent the entire day busting it up. He looked like he was totally whipped.

Encouraging Words
“For, "All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever." And this is the word that was preached to you.” (1 Peter 1:24-25)

Room is coming along

Well the room is no longer a room, it is a shell. The block walls still have to come down but that will be all. As you can see as you look at the rafters there is no insulation as none in the walls. So you can see why it got so hot in that room after the oak tree was gone. I was so thankful that the roof was ok and did not need to be replaced.
I am sitting here writing my Blog and I am thinking about mowing the lawn. Then I try to convince myself that could be my walk for the day. Oh no, I will not let me mind do that to me I will do both. Today is back to summer time 86 degrees right now at 1 PM.
Tonight is the Manatee radio show at Beef’s. I hope that Coach Joe has a surprise for us tonight. A great surprise would be a win Friday night against Venice. But I really think that Manatee will fall from the undefeated ranks this Friday. They are somewhat like the Gator’s, not doing well at all.
Well, time to get going and here wishing you a Blessed day.
Encouraging Words
“For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (
Hebrews 4:12)

Wild Weekend!

Well we all survived the weekend, between the grandkids and flag football and Gator Watch party we made it. Poor Pat had the worst of it as the flag football ran 40 minutes later than usual; she had to cook food for the party.

As you can see the football game was full of excitement. One picture shows Luke running the ball for an extra point. Not sure if he will be another Tim Tebow but he does look tough. The picture of Tyler is the prelude to him catching a pass for an extra point. The face his made looks like he is in pain, but he caught it. It is really fun watching the kids on Saturday morning. I just wish it would cool off a little as it is still pretty warm.

Well the Gator’s barely won another game; they sure do not deserve to be Ranked Number ONE. But it is a W in the right column. We had our watch party at Caleb & Michele Grimes home. As you can see we had a good crowd attending. In one of the pictures you will see Nicky Baden with a dog on the couch. Now the significant’s of this is this. People who know Nicky will wonder, what is he doing at a Gator party. Nicky is an FSU grad and fan, but I have the proof. Give a Seminole free food and he will go anywhere.

Today is the start of our remodeling of the room. The contractor is out there right now beating and framing. He is taking the windows out and I am putting them in a trailer. I have a friend who wants them so I have his trailer and I will deliver them to him. I will have pictures on Tuesday and will show the progress.
