Yard work day!

Wow what a day this has turned out to be so far. Pat and I started this morning (8 AM) as a team to mow, edge and weed eat the yard. Working together it should have taken us about 40 mins at the most.
As I started edging I noticed that some nice person had kicked one of my sprinklers. I say kicked because it is out by my street and the way it was broken tells me that. I had it running last night so I guess it made someone mad. I then noticed that I had a leak at one of my hose bibs on the house, so I fixed that. While Pat was mowing she noticed a spot where the sand was bubbling up. We both know what that was as soon as we saw it. So after the yard work Pat and I started to dig and cut roots until we could see the pipe. In fact it was three pipes and two of them were leaking. So after much digging and root chopping we decided to have a man come and do the repairs. Best $20 I have spent in a while, he repaired the leaks and filled up the hole.
As you can see I am waiting for the next bomb to go off, what will it be?

You be a Blessing to someone today and have yourself a Blessed day. Today’s verse is….“[To the Church in Laodicea] "To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.”- Revelation 3:14,20

Just Messing around....

Done for the day at 12:30, “I love it”. I think that I have done just about everything I want to do today. I am waiting for the first contractor to stop by and look at this room. As you can see the spot where the tree was is just about leveled off. I just came in from messing with it a little. I just do a little at a time as the heat is BAD.
Tonight Pat and me are taking my brother and his wife out to supper. It is my sister-in laws birthday, so it is time to have fun and eat well.
Tyler had another golf lesson today and seems to be getting along well. Today the pro worked on Tyler’s chipping and he seemed to do well. Next week will be the last of the lesson’s as school starts the 24th. It will now be up to his dad and me (a little) to take him to the range or play a little.
Be a Blessing to someone today and have a Blessed day. Today’s verse is….“For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”- Ephesians 2:10

"Lesson Learned"?

I know you are looking at that picture and saying…what? Well I took it to remind me that I worked hard all my life so that someone else can get these blisters. This is the blister I got for digging the ditch for my repair job on my sprinklers by my patio. This will not happen again, well……not until the next time anyway.
I had a friend who is a contractor come over to give me some direction on what I want to do. Basically I know what I want done I just wanted someone professional to tell me it can be done.
I am having two different guys stop by and give me somewhat of an idea what they will charge me to do the entire job from start to finish. I will do the painting but the rest is out of my league at my age.
Right now the room serves as Pats Coke Collection room. When it is done and looks like a million $$$ it will be her decision as what she wants in there.

Well you have a Blessed day and be a Blessing to someone today. Today’s verse of the day is…“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.”- 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Sprinker is done...me too!

Last night when I got done I was totally wore out, thank goodness for Pats help. I realized that I had not bought enough PVC to do the job that I had planned and engineered so carefully. But I thought that I would get done what I could and the go buy more pipe this morning. As usual I woke up about 3:30 AM and could not go back to sleep for hours. During that awake time I was able to re-think my project to fit my supplies. So, at 6:30 AM this morning after coffee I went out and completed the project. All seem to go well and the water flowed as you can see in the picture. Ha Ha!
Tonight I will fill the rest of the ditch and hopefully that will be it. I have a broken blister the size of a half dollar in the middle of my right palm. That goes to show you just how much work I don't do. Or on the other hand how stupid I am...gloves what gloves?
Sorry about the late Blog last night but I forgot all about it until late time....
Be a Blessing to someone today. Today's verse is “I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches.”- Psalm 119:14

Stump is Finished

Boy where has the time gone today. My day started with taking Tyler to his golf lesson at the county course. He seemed to enjoy it very much and I hope that he will stay with it. It will take and efforts from his dad, me and Pat to see that we get him to the practice range a couple of time a week for a while. I am really excited see him evolve into golf. Maybe I will be able to play golf with him and his dad some day, that would be great.
I also had the stump guy come out and finish the stump grinding. I stood out in the heat with him and I kind of got sick from the heat. Tonight about 5:30 PM I dug the ditch for the replacement of the sprinkler system. In the morning I will put in all new PVC and heads. I hope it will all go good so I can get done with that portion of it. Pat has been right there with me doing what she can, she is a real Champ.
Saturday was a real slow day for Pat and me as we just kind of hung out and watch some movies on the tube. Sunday we went to church and then went to the Manatee County Gator Club Beach Bash. This is where we invite incoming freshman and their family to lunch. We gave them a prize goodie bag and we have some drawings for gifts. It was a fun day for everyone and we got home about 6:30 PM.
Be a Blessing to someone today. Today’s verse is …..“[For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. According to Alamoth. A song.] God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”- Psalm 46:1
