Great Day for Golf

A day off is what Golf is made for, so that is what I did today. I use to play golf at least once a week but I stopped 18 months ago. I quit because I have a bad wrist and it was really hurting when I played. This wrist was broken when I was 16 yrs old and it was set improperly. It has caused me a lot of pain for years and has caused more problems with age. I took a couple of Advil’s today and played nine holes with a couple of friends from church. Today it seemed to be ok so I will try and play a little for a while.
On Monday I am taking my grandson Tyler for golf lessons. His mom and dad have bought him a new set of clubs to play with. I really believe that this may be Tyler’s nitch. He played several times this summer with his Grandfather in Va. I have played a little with him and I think he may be a natural. It would be a dream for me to see him go for it and play on the Manatee High School Golf team in a couple of years. Now that is a great reason to take care of my health.
I have a son-in law in Georgia that loves to play golf. This will give us something to do when we visit them this fall. I know that I cannot play in this blistering heat and humidity, but I should be able to play early in the AM.
For my faithful followers I want you to know unless something great or interesting happens I will taking the weekends off from the Blog.
Have a great weekend and be a Blessing to someone today. Today’s verse is ….“For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; it is he who will save us.”- Isaiah 33:22

" Spend Them $$$ "

Today is a non-eventful type day as I have not accomplished much. I have spent many hours doing work and updating the http://www.manateegatorclub.com/ Web Site. As the Web master for the Gator Club I get to do a lot of fun things on the Web Site.
We had a FP&L energy survey done today. This survey was generated by the additional heat we now have in the house. When I took down the oak tree it has increase the heat in the back room, lack of shade is the problem.
Over all I did not learn much more than I already knew. I need to make some changes in that room. I will be getting estimates to change it from a non-insulated, too many window’s room to just the opposite.
Oh well, it time for me to put some money into the economy. Kind of my own stimulus package ha, ha.
Be a Blessing to someone to day and have a Blessed day. Today’s verse is ….“All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal.”- Psalm 119:160

" Whew....."

Boy does God take care of me and my family! Today was a day of fishing for Pat, me and the boys. I usually throw a bait net and catch our bait. But I have hurt me elbow and I have had several cortisone shots. The doc told me not to throw the net for a few weeks. So I bought live shrimp which was a joke, they were so small that they were hard to hook.
We stopped at Rattlesnake point for Tyler to catch some pin fish for shark fishing. As we anchored the rumbling started south west of us. We ignored that as Tyler was catching pinfish one right after another. One time they timed it, it took 3 seconds to catch one after it hit the water. Luke caught his share also, so off we went to our fishing spot.
Today was the wildest day for fishing that we have had. Normally we catch a lot of snapper and grouper. Today the Lady fish were in town and they were hungry. The boys caught tons of them and also snapper, cat fish and yellow tail.
We had bought 3 doz shrimp and ran out in 2 ½ hours. That was God’s plan as by the time we got home cleaned the boat the storm hit. If you live in West Bradenton you know what I am talking about. It is all in the timing and God’s timing is perfect. What a mess we would have been in had we stayed out. If we had not run out of bait we might have stayed out because it was not hot and sunny.
Have a Blessed day and be a Blessing to someone today. Today’s verse is…..“The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.”- Psalm 119:130

" Love Your Kids "

She jumped up as soon as she saw the surgeon come out of the operating room. She said: 'How is my little boy? Is he going to be all right? When can I see him?' The surgeon said, 'I'm sorry. We did all we could, but your boy didn't make it.' Sally said, 'Why do little children get cancer? Doesn't God care any more? Where were you, God, when my son needed you?' The surgeon asked, 'Would you like some time alone with your son? One of the nurses will be out in a few minutes, before he's transported to the university.' Sally asked the nurse to stay with her while she said good bye to son. She ran her fingers lovingly through his thick red curly hair. 'Would you like a lock of his hair?' the nurse asked. Sally nodded yes. The nurse cut a lock of the boy's hair, put it in a plastic bag and handed it to Sally. The mother said, 'It was Jimmy's idea to donate his body to the University for Study. He said it might help somebody else. 'I said no at first, but Jimmy said, 'Mom, I won't be using it after I die. Maybe it will help some other little boy spend one more day with his Mom.' She went on, 'My Jimmy had a heart of gold. Always thinking of someone else. Always wanting to help others if he could.' Sally walked out of Children's Mercy Hospital for the last time, after spending most of the last six months there. She put the bag with Jimmy's belongings on the seat beside her in the car. The drive home was difficult. It was even harder to enter the empty house. She carried Jimmy's belongings, and the plastic bag with the lock of his hair to her son's room. She started placing the model cars and other personal things back in his room exactly where he had always kept them. She laid down across his bed and, hugging his pillow, cried herself to sleep. It was around midnight when Sally awoke. Laying beside her on the bed was a folded letter. The letter said: 'Dear Mom, I know you're going to miss me; but don't think that I will ever forget you, or stop loving you, just 'cause I'm not around to say 'I Love You' . I will always love you, Mom, even more with each day. Someday we will see each other again. Until then, if you want to adopt a little boy so you won't be so lonely, that's okay with me. He can have my room and old stuff to play with. But, if you decide to get a girl instead, she probably wouldn't like the same things us boys do. You'll have to buy her dolls and stuff girls like, you know. Don't be sad thinking about me. This really is a neat place. Grandma and Grandpa met me as soon as I got here and showed me around some, but it will take a long time to see everything. The angels are so cool. I love to watch them fly. And, you know what? Jesus doesn't look like any of his pictures. Yet, when I saw Him, I knew it was Him. Jesus himself took me to see GOD! And guess what, Mom? I got to sit on God's knee and talk to Him, like I was somebody important. That's when I told Him that I wanted to write you a letter, to tell you good bye and everything. But I already knew that wasn't allowed. Well, you know what Mom? God handed me some paper and His own personal pen to write you t his letter. I think Gabriel is the name of the angel who is going to drop this letter off to you. God said for me to give you the answer to one of the questions you asked Him 'Where was He when I needed him?' 'God said He was in the same place with me, as when His son Jesus was on the cross. He was right there, as He always is with all His children. Oh, by the way, Mom, no one else can see what I've written except you. To everyone else this is just a blank piece of paper. Isn't that cool? I have to give God His pen back now He needs it to write some more names in the Book of Life. Tonight I get to sit at the table with Jesus for supper. I'm sure the food will be great. Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. I don't hurt anymore. The cancer is all gone. I'm glad because I couldn't stand that pain anymore and God couldn't stand to see me hurt so much, either. That's when He sent The Angel of Mercy to come get me. The Angel said I was a Special Delivery! How about that? Signed with Love from God, Jesus & Me. (Let's see Satan stop this one.) Take 60 seconds and repost this, within the hour, you will have caused a multitude of believers to pray to God for each other. Then sit back and feel the Holy Spirit work in your life for doing what you know God loves 'When you're down to nothing, God is up to something.'

Be a Blessing to someone today! Today's verse is....“This is what the LORD says, he who made the earth, the LORD who formed it and established it—the LORD is his name: 'Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”- Jeremiah 33:2-3

What to do, What to do!

As you can see I don’t have much to do or worry about today, I did go to city hall and I got really agitated from a letter that I received. One of the people who live in my ward wrote complaining about non-essentials things that the city does. He said he did not like the vote we made about raising taxes (which we have not done). He loved our governor so that told me a lot about his intelligence.
Looking at the pictures of poles is what is really important. I have all the man toys and I have to come up with a better solution as to how to store them that will me my next project for my teeny tiny mind to figure out.
You have a Blessed day and be a Blessing to someone. Today’s verse is……“But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”- 1 Samuel 16:7

" 47 " Years......

Today is a very special day for me. My lovely wife Pat and I have been married 47 yrs. That might not be a very long time for some of you but it is not the norm for today. When I evaluate my life over and over I know how Blessed I am.
Our day today so far has consisted of going to Church and then out to a great lunch. With luck we ran into Dr. Lieberman who is my heart doctor and Pats primary. I was so glad that he sat away from us so he could not see what I was eating.
The rest of the day will be rest and relaxation for the both of us. Here’s hoping that you have a Blessed day and that you will be a Blessing to someone today.
Today’s verse is…“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”- James 1:22
