Florida is HOT !

I out smarted myself yesterday afternoon. I had planned on mowing the yard this AM while it was cool, 85 and humid. But yesterday afternoon about 3:30 I thought that it was fairly cool so I mowed at that time. It took me 35 mins to get it down and I can tell you that I thought I would die. By the time I got everything done and put away I was struggling to breath. It was so very humid that it was tough to get through it. Oh well, live and learn...I keep saying to myself your 70 not 35.

This morning I decided to pressure wash the patio next to where the tree was. I also put on the straight stream nozzle so I could move some mulch around. I found a rather large piece of the trunk and root left. It is too much for me to handle so I have called the tree man and he said he would come out and do it. Anyway I was able to pressure wash the wall and patio floor. I also did 4 sections of the neighbor’s wooden fence. It was mildewed really badly and we had to look at it all the time. Thank goodness for a good pressure washer as it ate it right up. And that was my projects for the day. Tonight we are having friends over to play a little cards and relax. Gary Gregory is home from the mountains and he stop by to see us. Well, actually he brought by an Anniversary card to Pat and I (47 YRS). We talked about the weather in NC and how there is very little humidity there.
Be a blessing to someone today. Today’s verse is “You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word.”- Psalm 119:114

Looking for a Yard Girl ?

Had a real busy day today at least busy enough to keep me from getting in my chair and napping!
My day started off with a dentist appointment to have my teeth cleaned. I had a discussion with the Tech about me getting TMJ the last time that I was in her chair. For those who don’t know what TMJ is let me tell you it hurts. It is from keeping your jaw open wide for a long period of time (teeth cleaning) and it gets out of alignment. It then clicks as you eat, yawn and chew and it hurts. I am just about over it as I have had it for 6 months. So I told her to “cool it” with the long periods of time she works on me.
I had four pop up sprinklers that got plugged up with mulch from the breaking of water lines. So I had to take all of them apart and clean them out a few times. They seem to be working now so I hope the mulch is done coming through the lines.
I weed eated and edge my yard today. I do half of my work one day and the other half the next day, in the morning I will mow.
I put the last coat of paint on the deer feeder today so I am done with that part. I know how I want to make a lid for it but I don’t think I am able. My son-law Doug is really good with wood products so I am going to ask him to make what I want, if he agrees to do it that will finish my project.
I am cooking supper tonight…. New Orleans style Jambalaya so I better get started peeling onions, peppers and etc.
Have a Blessed day and be a Blessing to someone today. Today’s verse is “Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.”- John 1:12-13

Food for Deer !

Almost there, this is fine engineering at its best "Gator Style". On the left are the materials used for this brain drenching project. On the right is a semi finished product. The little white spot at the bottom is where the corn will come out slowly as the deer and other animals eat. I am in the process of designing a top with a hinge, then it will be complete. I know all the people will envy Sandy when they see 100's of deer coming in droves to their neighborhood Ha ha.
Anyway it will be fun to watch them feed and will serve a purpose. Have a Blessed day and be a Blessing to someone today. Today's verse of the day is “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”- Matthew 5:14,16

"When will it end"?

Well there goes the stump.......and three irrigation pipes going to the yard system. So right now I have guy out there repairing the lines. Also the tree men just showed up to pick up all the mulch and dirt. So maybe, just maybe I will be done with this tree.
I have some of the items I need to build Sandy a Deer feeder so I am going out to start that today. I will have some pictures of the finished product later.
You have a Blessed day and be a Blessing to some one today. Today's verse is “I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have preserved my life.”- Psalm 119:93

New Door and Etc!

Spent most of the day trying to figure out what to do with the back porch and door. This is what I am planning to do at this time. I have an appointment with FP&L to do an attic survey of the porch(in closed). They will give me a certificate for a discount for insulation to be blown in to the attic space in the room.
I am going to hire a man to replace my old door and make some changes there. I am going to change the swing and build up the thresh hole two inches. Then make a new and better seal around the wall and door. This should solve my leak problem. I would never have done that with the tree still there as it would continue to lift the slab into the door.
You be a blessing to someone today and have a Blessed day. Today's verse of the day is.....“I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”- Philippians 3:14

Brain Burning Now!

What to do, what to do and that is what my brain is asking me. I have three options to cool the room back off now that the shade is GONE! The first and most costly option is to build another built up roof on top of the present roof. The second option is to tear out the ceiling and staple insulation to the rafters and put a new ceiling in. The solution that I am thinking about is the least intrusive one. I will take off the fascia boards and have someone blow insulation into the roof. As you can see in the picture that at the bottom of the roof rafters is the opening for the small roof. I don't think they would want to get in my attic during the summer and blow the insulation from that point. I really don't know for sure but I am going to see what they think is the best option. Anyway, another day another thought process.
Have a Blessed day and be a Blessing to someone today! Today's verse is.....“[God Disciplines His Sons] Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”- Hebrews 12:1

Still Thinking About it!

This is how I feel about what I am doing at my back door. I first started trying to fix the door which was in-operable. Then it went into a door that was leaking in water at the bottom when it rained. It then went to my cutting down our beautiful oak tree which was the blame for the in-operable door to start with! It now is a back door that still leaks and a back room that no loner has shade over it. The room is so hot even with the AC on that you would think "Holy Cr.."! Oh well I am sure that $5,000 should get the job done....
And so there goes another day on this beautiful planet that we live on and have made a mess of. So.......you have a Blessed day and be a Blessing to some one today. Today's verse is.....“[By Faith] Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”- Hebrews 11:1
