Great Friday Night

Well today we are off to see the Rays play baseball tonight, we are taking the grand kids Tyler and Luke. Maybe Luke will learn some new skills, I am sure for Tyler and Luke it will be eating at the ball park.
Well Friday was a great day for me and my sports teams. Last night we watched the spring High School football game between Manatee and Largo. Manatee won 56-0, I don't know if Manatee is that good or Largo is that bad. I will say that Manatee has a lot of offensive speed.
After the game I settled in to watch the Gator girls play softball and listen to the Gator men play baseball. Each team won in an exciting manner. First the guys were trailing Bethune Cookman 7-5 in the bottom of the 9Th inning. For the 8Th time this year they rallied to win, the score was 8-7. On the other side, the girls played a great game as Stacey Nelson pitched a brilliant game. A solo home run in the 5Th inning for the Gator's was the difference, the girls won 1-0 over the "Big Blue" Michigan team.(oh how I love whipping the "BIG TEN").
Well it is time to get going, read the paper and drank coffee and did my Blog. Have a Blessed Day!

Friday is Yard day

This morning when I looked out side I could tell that it would be raining soon. So I quickly gulped down my morning coffee and went and mowed before it rained or became humid and hot. As the last blade fell the bottom fell out, but I was done. Now it is hot sunny and humid so I am glad it I got it done.
To night is the local spring football game so I hope that it will be a Little nice weather wise, but I doubt it! Summer here anymore is really bad, for me anyway. But here we live and here we die so I am hanging in there. (whoa is me)
Have a Blessed Day.

Our Friends " The Gregory's"

Gary and Harriet Gregory are very dear friends of ours, and we travel with them many times a year. This picture is in Kentucky in the fall, we stopped for a visit at this location from our way back from the Fla-Ky football game. As most things the name of this place escapes me for this moment I will have to look at Pats log book. I do know from this spot we were able to see the States of Tenn, NC and Va, so they say. It was a great trip and of course the Gator's won another thriller.
Last night we had another very ,very short council meeting. With this economy there is very little development going on. With new development there are always real big issues and that keep us busy. Today's newspaper showed that the county is laying off 82 people. They have just about cleared out the entire planning dept. Times are really sad for people who lose their jobs in these times.
Well as you can see I have change the look of my Blog and I like it better. My Blog does not seem to interest many people. and I guess that's OK as I enjoy doing it. My daughter Sandy is a faithful reader so that works for me.
Take care and have a Blessed Day.

My favorite Time Of The Year!

This picture was taken on one of our Thanksgiving stays in the Blue Ridge Mountains
of Georgia. It is my favorite time of the year, I wish we could spend more time up there. I get so excited that I plan it very early, in fact I just reserved a cabin for this coming Thanksgiving. We rented the same cabin last year, we all like it so much that we are going back.
We received great news from our daughter Sandy. they have received a contract on their home in SC. I hope and pray that it all goes well for them, as this economy really is bad. I know that it will be a gigantic weight off of their shoulders to rid them selves of the house and worries. We are excited that they will be visiting us shortly here in Florida. James and I will do some man things while the girls play....
This Friday night our local high school will have their spring football game. They are playing Largo High School and it should be exciting. It always makes me feel that football is around the corner. It gives us a little taste of what we will see in the fall.
I will be leaving city hall shortly as we have a council meeting tonight, so I will be back around 5 PM. I am leaving to go and buy a new Bar B Q grill, I have been looking for a week or so. It takes me so long to make up my mind about simple things.
Have a Blessed Day. FINALLY THE VERSE OF THE DAY! " However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace.”- Acts 20:24

What a Fun Time

As you know Pat and I are avid Gator fans and haven't missed a Nat'l Championship game yet. This one was so great as we had the Big Ten group locally really bad mouthing my Gator's. Then for our Basketball Team to beat them also for the Nat'l Championship, wow. how great.

City hall is quiet again this morning, everyone is getting ready for the council meeting on Wednesday night. Not too much going on in the arena of development, but that will pick up soon.

Tonight is Beef O' Brady night with our friends so Pat get's a night off from cooking and washing dishes. We have a little group that meets every Tuesday night.

I hope that they televise the Softball final four as the Lady Gator's are in it And the regional Baseball games as the Gator men are in it.

Well time to go to a meeting, have a "Blessed Day".

"Lets Dance"

This year was Luke's first year with Tee Ball and we had a great time watching him. I think he really enjoyed it very much.
Today we went fishing with Bob and Sue Sweat, caught fish and had a good time. We came in about noon and that was just right, as it is summer time. I just can't take the heat anymore, that's part of getting old. I am planning a little trip to Lake Okeechobee in June. Fish in the morning and nap in the afternoon, "that's what I'm taking about"'
I think it is time to take a good Memorial Day nap, so see you later and have "Blessed Day"'

"My Son in - Law The Chef"

I know that James is getting ready to show off his cooking skills when he gets to Florida in June. He will be glad to know that I will have new grille for him to use when he gets here.

Today was most normal for us in the Morning Church and the Sunday School. But the afternoon was a little different than normal. We received and invitation to go the the Seminole Hard Rock Cafe in Tampa. We had a nice time there but it was awfully smokey, too smokey for me.

Came home and Pat fixed the sausage jambalaya that we made yesterday. It is always so much better the next day, Yum Yum..

In the morning we are going fishing with Bob Sweat and his wife, I hope the weather holds off for a while.

I still can not figure why I can not cut and paste on this Blog, it was OK for the first couple of days but now nothing.

So, "Have a Blessed" day.
